A Rose Prince

A Rose Prince

There’s excitement in the air
The roses are budding
A very special golden rose grows alone.
The fairies are flitting to and fro
The forest awaits.

Slowly the petals open
They fall silently to the ground
The baby fairies awake
Stretching their wings.

The golden rose lastly, slowly opens
It’s petals one by one
The forrest folk wait hardly daring to hope.
Silence abounds.

There is a rustle as the fairy queen arrives
She looks in the rose and there to their joy
The rose gives up it’s secret
A golden child with gossamer wings.

He stretches, yawns with arms stretched out.
The fairy queen gently lifts him and holds him high
The forrest errupts with cheers
Their fairy Prince is born.
