A Skeleton of Dreams

A Skeleton of Dreams

The mist hanging over
A skeleton of trees
Ivy vested trunks
With shiny green leaves.

The squirrel’s on a mission
To find the next meal
Hoping to be lucky
And find a 2 for 1 deal.

The birds are in chorus
They’ve been up for a while
Stop just to listen
Walk on with a smile.

Sodden brown leaves
Still cover some ground
Giving shelter and protection
Where new life will be found.

Not long to wait now
Before a season of change
Buds bursting open
In a bustling rage.

No skeletons of trees
A longing desire
The trees fully dressed
In there green attire.

But for now I walk on
Through a skeleton of dreams
A wood of pure magic
Well that’s how it seems.
