A wink and a smile

A wink and a smile

You smiled at me today…
from the well thumbed pages
of an album of childhood memories,
a Kodak moment in black and white,
I smile now, as I recall the moment
the shutter captured you for always,
pasting you on the pages in my heart.
Time marches on

we age,

but not you..

for you, in just that moment time stood still
forever
I cherish the moment you smiled your crooked smile
and winked.. just winked

and it was meant for only me,

a small girl who loved her granddad

I'm past my sell by date but still going strong, I love reading, gardening, writing and sketching, I live in a very small fishing town and love it. I was born in Coventry but city life was never for me, I have lived in lots of different places, but I am finally settled here (much to the relief of my husband)
