Billy the Boxer

Billy the Boxer

Billy is a fearless man
Admired by his peers
He’s been a boxer all his life
Hence his cauliflower ears.

He wears his silk shorts with aplomb
As he climbs into the ring
And all his fans shout out loud
Come on Billy, win.

The bell rings out to start the match
And Billy takes his place
He’s young and fit opponent smiles
And connects with Billy’s face.

Billy wobbles just a bit
Then holds his gloves up high
And jabs a left with all his might
And floors the young fit guy.

The ref he gives a standing count
And Billy strikes a pose
His winning belt is held up high
Above his flattened nose.

Billy’s won his final fight
Admired by his peers
But Billy has been boxing
For far too many years.

Billy’s hung his gloves up
To the sadness of his peers
Now Billy can fulfil his dreams
Plastic surgery on his nose and ears.

Hi, I'm a mum of three children two boys and a girl but all grown up now but they're still my babies, I've been married to Jeff for 43 years. I Love all kinds of animals especially dogs, cats, and wild birds but we've no pets right now as our beautiful dog passed away and not ready to replace her yet. Until recently I loved all kinds of craft from making dolls houses from scratch to knitting, unfortunately I have a trapped nerve and get cramp in my left hand if I try and do any craft work which is a shame as I loved to give my makes to charity.
