Bird in a cage

Bird in a cage

Here I sit like a bird in a cage
I hop to the window but few people pass
The telly squawks on about the risks of age
And my ballooning chocolate-based mass

Our world has been dirtied by people not met
It needs a good scrub, a total reset
There is light in this tunnel, the numbers are less
We can reform, we can track and test

Our world has changed, we must pass others by
The cage door will open, but will I want to fly?

I've always liked writing short stories, novellas and poems. The community poems on here are really good. So I had to join in!
