Catch of the day

As it was beautiful sunny day
I decided to go fishing for the day
So I packed up my gear and loaded the car
I was really happy as I knew it wasn’t very far.

I carried on to the bank and set up the rods
Then I watched as the float bobbed up and down which meant I had a bite
So I jumped up to my feet and tried to reel him in
He put up a really good fight but I knew he would not win.

I placed him on the landing mat and took out the scales
Now it was time to weigh him but how big would he be?
I looked at the scales in disbelief as I had broken my own record
And I was so excited as he became my catch of the week.
