Christmas

Christmas

Christmas comes round just once a year
And that time, for this year, is almost here
Decorations to put up, tinsel and a tree
Here’s hoping that we all agree

Family to visit and presents to deliver
Enjoying the time of being a giver
This time of year makes you feel so glad
Of the experiences you’ve already had

Excited children can’t wait for the day
When Santa Claus comes their way
They’ll hear sleigh bells way up in the sky
Then look up and wish they could fly

Parents then wait for the children to sleep
So with their presents they can creep
Up and down the stairs that seem so steep
Hoping their children have done counting sheep

Christmas morning arrives – children awake
Hoping there’s more than a single snowflake
While parents just hope they’ll be no heartache
With presents that seem to easily break

The day passes by, no dramas arise
It’s rounded off with some lovely mince pies
Children exhausted then go to their beds
Giving parents a while to clear their heads

As Christmas Day finally draws to an end
Peace and love are still yours to send
So, Merry Christmas wishes to everyone
Remember to appreciate times with a loved one.
