Country Scene

Country Scene

A peaceful country scene
Away from the crowded city.
High on a hill, as I look down
I see twinkling lights, oh so pretty
Yet the city looks so content
As I watch as sunset gleams
And as daylight turns to dust
This is my place of dreams

Such beauty underneath quiet skies.
For a quiet hour, I sit and stare
And I’m alone, in this silent place
With such serenity, I have no care.
While I watch the sun go to rest
I think of life’s loveliest things
All the gifts that God has given
And the season’s that he brings.
