Dear little snowdrop

Dear little snowdrop

As the warmth of the sun kisses cold earth
Such a delicate tiny flower is at birth.
I see you peeping from under the trees
Your white head nodding in the breeze.

Just like Church people who like to pray
Your head is bowed at break of day.
You are so shy when you appear
so fresh and sweet, you bring us cheer.

For snowdrops at the promise of Spring
As are the birds who love to sing.
That tiny snowdrop ‘’neath the tree
You are the first Spring flower I see.

For you do fight frost and snow so high
to let us know that Spring is nigh.
