Drinking, Music and My Old Guitar

Drinking, Music and My Old Guitar

There are times in our lives
When we all make mistakes
and I made lots before today
for I have fail to give you true love
and now you’re refusing to stay

I should have loved you like I ought to
I should have paid more attention to you
instead of always drinking in a bar
leaving you  alone and always feeling blue

I tried to give up the drinking
but I just cannot keep away from the bar
for I love being there with the music and the drink
and playing my old guitar

So you go ahead honey
do what you want to do
for I cannot blame you for leaving
and telling me that we’re through

You know I am never going to change
no matter how hard I try
am one of those that will keep on drinking
and playing my guitar until I die

Am having trouble now shes gone
I don’t even think I could sleep
for I know I hurt her heart to deep
so I think I will just get dressed
and grab my old guitar
then head down the highway
to my old favorite bar.
