Hello mummy!

A poem to make your heart melt written my Mick Westwood

Hello Mummy!

“Hello mum, can you see my curl?”
This is me, your little girl,
Tiny fingers, tiny toes,
Can you see I have my daddies nose?

Will you nurse me, tenderly,
Will you softly sing to me,
Will you watch me, as I grow,
And will you always love me so?

I am yet helpless in my ways,
For these are very early days,
But I know I can rely on you,
To do the things I cannot do.

But I will grow, as time goes by,
And I will cease to whinge and cry,
But the love that now you give to me,
Will determine who I am to be.

So give me what you think I need,
Daily cuddles, regular feed,
And teach me now, by what you give,
All that I need, to help me live.

Let me observe your gentle ways,
That help me through these childhood days,
All that you are, all that you do,
Will help me grow – to be like you !

“Hello mummy, ( I love you!)”

I am a 71 year old retired coal miner, who spent 30 years working underground. Having time on my hands, and in order to keep my brain exercised, I decided to try to write poetry and put down on paper some of my life experience, and my hopes, dreams and other thoughts. I also do a little gardening, but I am hopeless at housework. Much to my wife's displeasure.
