So many heroes of our time
I give you these all in rhyme
firemen policeman and uncle sam
they will help you whenever they can.

Soldiers, sailors and marines too
don’t forget about you know who.
Planes are flying this way and that
don’t forget the airmen and that’s a fact.

These are the heroes of our time
who fought wars on the front line.
So many died who lost their lives
what they did was no surprise

They were brave they were true
you are the people we honour you.
We give thanks for what they did
to keep us safe and to live.
