How Can I?

How can I?

How can I uplift thee with just my humble words
How can I bring a smile when I know everything hurts
How can I bring a little joy when I know your down
How can I restore some hope and take away your frown

I can lift your spirits by taking time to listen and talking
I can bring a smile to you if I pass you whilst out walking
I can write you a letter or a poem and make a call
I can tell you stories of holidays walkabouts and all

Don’t dwell on what we can’t have make the most of what we do
Be thankful for the miracle of science and the medical miracles too
Be grateful for the workers who sacrifice safety to keep us going
It’s hard I know in times of stress to stop sad thoughts from flowing

The future keeps on moving forwards and we must follow to
Although we’ve endured much sadness living normally is overdue
In life we learn to live amongst Nature’s dramas and her glory
Fight on the light is getting brighter we’ll have adventures to continue our story
