Lives lost

They thought their homes were safe
Now a lot of people have lost their lives
It makes me feel so sad and angry
That nobody can tell them why.

They had there whole lives in front of them, young and old
But their time was to be cut short
By the incompetence of those in charge
Who should have listened to them and done more.

I hope things in the future will change
And lessons will be learnt
so those poor would have not died in vain
But I very much doubt as money will always come first.
