Living on the Veg

Living on the Veg

Vitalising vigorous voluptuous veg
Delectable sliced grated chopped peeled wedged
Brighten up your palate
Exhilarate your plate
Consume the mighty vegetable
Be a veggie intoxicate

Crunchy captivating carrots
Bewitching bold beetroot
Luxurious leeks, sassy swede
Gentle petite pea shoots
A victory of vegetables, the gardener’s delight
Perky peppers, cool courgettes

Tantalising the appetite
Virtuoso veg for every single meal
Seasonal asparagus with buttery appeal
The humble plain potato, roasted chipped wedged
Or jacket-baked, butter-blobbed
Giving veg the edge

Sensational sweetcorn cobbed on a bbq
Abundant beneficial broccoli
Nutritional revenue
Complex cabbage, classy cauli
A calorific low
Plant a wig-wam of runner beans

Watch them quickly grow
Pop a plump pea
Roast curious kohlrabi
Chew mangetout
Mash celeriac
Scoop an artichoke
Chip the parsnip

As you know
The glorious tomato
Is not a veggie!
Sauce it with spaghetti
But what a hoot – it’s a fruit!
Whenever you need that nutrient edge
Choose a superfood
Versatile victorious vivacious veg

Great poem. I’m not vegetarian, but I just love my veg. Have to really as my husband grows a great variety in our veg patch garden.

Hi Kes, thanks for reading my poem. I'm not a veggie either, but I love my veg. Lucky you to have a fresh supply from your garden.
I only have a small garden, but manage to produce raspberries, rhubarb, potatoes and herbs.
Got some peas, courgettes and kale mangetout in pots this year. A trial run!

Good luck with all your produce. Can’t beat the taste of home grown and freshly picked.
