Love

Love

Throughout the ages men have asked,”What is this thing called love?”
Is it but a feeling, or a gift from God above?
’tis hard to say and hard to know, for there is nothing you can touch,
The enigma of the ages, that’s been misunderstood too much,

Love cares not where it strikes, or when, it just suddenly appears,
It cares not for situations – nor for mortal fears,
Love ignores things material, the things we prize so much,
Yet, who amongst us would not trade, for true loves gentle touch?

Love causes level heads to spin, hearts flip and stomachs churn,
Blood pounds around the body, and loves fever starts to burn,
Alas there is no cure now, loves here and here to stay,
Prepare Ye for the sleepless nights and distractions everyday,

Should love be unrequited, ignored by man again,
It turns from warmth and tenderness, to agonising pain,
For true love does not accept rebuff, it’s clearly here to stay,
It’s joy can turn to darkness, that will tear your soul away.

So heed the melodies of love, the harmonies, the dance,
Embrace your inner feelings, let True Love your life enhance,
It strikes just once in all the years, and it’s powerful healing force,
Can turn you from a rocky path, and chart a brand new course.
