Love Unrequited

As it’s St Valentine’s day, I thought I would post this in sympathy of those who love someone they cannot have.

Love Unrequited

Such pure unbounded love art thou,
can enter thought by dark by light.
Can venture through my waking hour,
and slumber steal at night.

With tiredness, comes the waking morn,
Good strength be sought to face the day.
But still those very thoughts persist,
Will they e’er go away?

Yet do I really wish to lose,
The joy of love so pure, so fine.
This love will haunt me all my years,
Though she will ne’er be mine.
