Love within you!

Love within you!

Here’s a hand I have to give you,
Here’s a heart that’s open wide,
For all the love you hold within you,
Bring it here and step inside.

Never doubt the love I hold here,
Open arms are waiting too,
Love to take and love to hold dear,
The love I have, I give to you.

Life is here and love for giving,
Strong and sure to last for life,
Hearts together ever living,
Man and Woman, Man and Wife.

I am a 71 year old retired coal miner, who spent 30 years working underground. Having time on my hands, and in order to keep my brain exercised, I decided to try to write poetry and put down on paper some of my life experience, and my hopes, dreams and other thoughts. I also do a little gardening, but I am hopeless at housework. Much to my wife's displeasure.
