May 2018

May 2018…..

Ducklings, goslings, fledglings perched in trees,
Buds turn to blossom, flowers and bumble bees.
Sounds of music on the village green,
Maypole dancers, waiting to be seen,

Sound of cricket balls hitting the bat,
A roar from the crowd of “howzat”
A walk in the woods, amongst the bluebells,
A stroll on the beach, picking up sea shells.

The sun will come out, the days will be fair,
If you want a rest, get out your deckchair.
Time for a beer, wine or even a Pimms,
Days stay light, before the evening dims.

May is such a special time of year,
Raise your glass let’s all give a cheer.
A cheer for good health and the renewal of life.
A cheer to forget last Winters cold and strife.
