Measuring time

Measuring time

Wait a minute time can you stay a little longer?
Can I stand with you just until  I’m feeling that bit stronger?
Can I catch you up you’re far too fast as you just keep running away?
Stop and catch your breath you’ve been a friend to me I’ve got things I need to say

Time before you slip away can someone bang the gavel
Before the picture here dismantles and the moment starts to unravel
Time can I hold your hand?
Can you stop the grains of sand keep slipping through

There’s no testing time
I can rhyme and rhyme
But I can’t hold on to you
