My Grumpy Old Man

My Grumpy Old Man

Why are old men grumpy
Why does it come with age
What happens to an older bloke
That fills his life with rage

Nothing makes him happy
Except when he can moan
If he keeps this up much longer
He might find that he’s alone

He moans about the council
He moans about his boss
He moans about the kids
Then says he doesn’t give a toss

He moans about his family
He moans about mine too
He moans about the housework
He hasn’t got a clue

How miserable it makes us
To hear him going on
Like a grumpy broken record
With a dismal dreary song

I can see the future
When we’re both old and grey
Him sat moaning on and on
Me deafer by the day

My mother had two hearing aids
Not me I used to scoff
I’m petrified of going deaf
Except to turn HIM off
