Our Great London Marathon

Our Great London Marathon

Watching the marathon on TV today
Such an awesome, spectacular sight
Each runner a personal story to tell
Making the future for all much more bright

From pounding the streets and the treadmills
Where the seeds of their dreams had been sewn
Their ultimate dreams now being fulfilled
Telling all, you are not on your own

Emotions run high as I watch them pass by
Bringing strength from their loss and their grief
Raising awareness and positive vibes
You can achieve if you just have belief

The crowds happy smiles, along all the miles
Supporting the ones that they love
And loved ones we’ve lost,  looking down now
Cheer you on from the heavens above

A day to rejoice in the peoples’ one voice
Raising money for many a great cause
With total admiration, you’re a true inspiration
I salute you all with applause
