Please don’t change

Please don’t change your profile
don’t put up any more flags,
don’t say we stand together
linked up with hate hashtags.

Don’t say you’ll light a candle
to help the world be free.
Don’t stop for a minutes silence
or think it could happen to me.

Don’t let yourself be dragged down
or shed too many tears,
the evil feeds off torment
They want to promote fear.

Instead please keep on living,
each day try to be kind.
Fight off the racist tensions
keep peace inside your mind.

Don’t give up on your freedom
keep living day by day
don’t let the darkness blind you
Stand up in your own way.
