Pottering

Pottering

Time on our hands behind closed doors
To keep us going we tidy some drawers
Sorting through cupboards what will we find
Things that we’ve kept for something else in mind

Cleaning the windows and polish the silver
Pause for a cuppa sit taking a breather
Time on our hands to read that old book
Finish a blanket with a grey crochet hook

Pot up those seeds you’ve had for a while
Take a seat in the garden it brings a smile
Time on our hands for our hobbies again
Keeping us busy so we don’t go insane

Things we can do at home on our own
Learn a language or play the trombone
Maybe not rambling, cycling or fishing
For family and friends for those we’ll be missing

We wait some more and more becomes longer
Time on our hands to potter and ponder
