Shouting, cheering Hip Hip Hooray

Celebrating V.E Day – In honour of the fallen

Shouting, cheering Hip Hip Hooray

Everyone is out in the street
Hugging strangers, oh how sweet
Smiles and laughter back in vogue
No more bombs to explode

Ladies in their Sunday best
Twirling round so full of zest
Food is laid out for every child
Tummies about to pop, they all smiled

Celebrating is bitter sweet
Some families are incomplete
Men cut down by bullet and shell
No chance to say farewell

Glasses are raised as a tribute
To a mans loss so acute
Their bravery we honour
By waving a victory banner

I have left work due to chronic health problems. I used to love walking especially along the coast on holiday, arthritis has stopped me doing that. I live on my own, I used to have two rescue cats but due to Asthma they have had to be rehomed. I enjoy reading and I am interested in photography and geology/Paleontology especially micro fossils. I am really proud to have discovered two new species. When you have problems you discover who are your true friends. It is so easy to get depressed when you have difficulty in getting out and about. Now I have been inspired to write poetry.
