Snap, Crackle and BANG!

A very topical poem written by Teresa Harrison-Best about fireworks and animals …

Snap, Crackle and BANG!

Before you light your bonfire
look out for sleeping hogs!
Take sensible precautions
for all your cats and dogs.

With Catherine wheels now whirling,
and rockets whooshing by,
the sound of more explosions
across the night time sky.

Think where you launch your fireworks
as wildlife might be there.
Enjoy your pyrotechnics
without the need to scare.

Play calm and soothing music
or switch the TV on.
Ensure your pets are safe indoors
outside would be so wrong!

Microchip your cats and dogs
in case they flee the scene.
So if they’re found away from home
we’ll know where they have been.

Pheromone may pave the way
to comfort and unwind.
Just take a note of what I’ve said
and hopefully you’ll be fine!
