Sublime

Friends challenge me by giving me words and I make poems from them. Today the word is “sublime”

I’ve always loved to write in rhyme
Using words that fall in line
Maybe you will like my stuff
Throwing words in off the cuff

Mixing in a metaphor
Trying not to sound a bore
I love language, any type
Written, spoken, even skype

So indulge me if you will
Even though I have no skill
Read my words I hope you smile
Even for a little while…..

“Ode to a sub-lime”

I am just a small sub-lime
Wishing I was in my prime
Spend my day in awe of those
Amazing premium fruit they chose

Slicing, blending chopping up,
Pouring in a smoothie cup
But wait there is a knife in view
Please say it is my turn too

Yes, here I go I look my best
To give you all my lovely zest
Take my juice I will surrender
To the blades of a fiesty blender

Sip me slowly, take your time
As I’m no longer a sub-lime!!
