The Fairy Godmother’s Lament

The Fairy Godmother’s Lament

The fairy godmother laid down her wand
She rolled her eyes and heavily sighed
She honestly thought she’d nailed it
She’d done all her research- really tried

But apparently it was ‘ all so last year’
Florals were ‘a thing of the past’
The outfit she created had  bombed
Frankly she was rather downcast.

Her pals had warned her against it
But she still wasn’t really prepared
For the tears and the sulks and tantrums,
The crying and shouting got her quite scared

So now she would have to admit it
The thought it fair made her wince
It was true what they said at ‘godmother school ‘
Never make clothes for a prince.
