It doesn’t take a lot to make someone’s day.
A smile or a wave, a simple hello.
You may walk your road thinking no one cares
It may well surprise you that somebody does.

Your day may be bleak though sickness or grief.
Or no one will listen your story unheard.
Your laughter and joy have all washed away.
The darkness is great and you need the light.

The sound of music, a favourite song
A kitten, a puppy, a little child’s laugh.
A call from a friend to see how you are.
Simple things that help so much.

So when you pass by a person alone
Just smile at them and nod hello
Pick up the phone and have a chat
Or call at their door to share their day.
