Unrequited Love

His car is shiny, fast and sleek
I watch for him most every week
If I obtain what I have planned
On blended knee, he’ll beg my hand

I’ll touch my finger to my chin
Pretend that I can’t take it in
And in a voice that is sincere
Whisper my answer in his ear

Then out to buy a sparkling ring
My ticket to just everything
High heeled shoes, designer frocks
Top stylists to trim my locks

Then I make it very plain
To clean my teeth , I use champagne
Reporters queue outside my door
Cameras flashing by the score

I have beauty, I have charm
I only need to take his arm
Just what can the problem be?
When in the crowd,  can’t see me

I go to every football match
Hoping that his eye I’ll catch
Though till  fate pays me a call
Have just his photo……on my wall
