Walk the Walk

Walk the Walk

We’ve walked and walked until we can’t walk anymore
Not just for our pleasure not to explore
We’ve walked because it’s all we could do
But only stayed local no Woodlands or Zoo

The miles we’ve covered clockwise and other
If only to see what’s on our doorstep to discover
Every inch of Estate’s pathways roads and back home
Mostly just walking not talking and mostly alone

One year on we’ve more hope for a life near normal before
The Scientists and Medics speedily worked to make sure
With smiles on our faces and a skip to our pace
Off to the center it’s vaccine day less speed more haste

With warmth and much gratitude to those who administer
Around the clock working to keep us safe from the sinister
Along with the wait for the final jab to take place
We will carry on walking with style and grace

But don’t let your guard drop we can’t kiss or hug yet
This battle we fight is still trying to get us you bet
Though storms can’t last forever the clouds blow away
Until that day comes keep safe so we can breath another day

With Hope in our steps as we walk the same pathways again
It won’t be long before we can stretch to further plains
Let’s just remember to respect our places and spaces
When we roam freely with bigger smiles on our faces
