We’ll meet again

We’ll meet again

Our own Dame Vera Lynn has died
She was the Forces sweetheart
Loved by all who heard her
her songs became a special part
For the men away at war
Away from family and friends
She reminded them of home
where connections never ends

Singing songs of love and longing
Kept the military entertained
Singing songs of England
While she also gained
The love and affection
for them it was a pleasure
She was an amazing lady
Certainly a National Treasure
