What was that again?

What was that again?

I’m staring at the kitchen floor and wondering what I’ve come here for.
The fridge is open that’s a clue, but what did I come here to do?
Take something out? Put something in? Would that be breakfast, tea, or Din?

In Sainsbury’s I’ve lost my mind – I’ve left my shopping list behind.
Just have to browse past all the shelves and hope the goods announce themselves.
“I’m what you want!”  I hear them hissing – I’ll still go home with something missing.

Can I sit next to you? Oh great. Forget his name, but I can’t wait.
I did enjoy that talk he gave; so cloak and dagger, and so brave.
I’m glad he’s back, I’m glad I’m here. WHAT? “It’s cakes this month, my dear”?

I’m at the clinic, out of puff; the bus was late, well—that’s just tough.
Was it the Doctor or the Nurse? new batteries or something worse?
Consult the desk: Your Blood test’s due, take a ticket and join the queue.

When I rise up on angel wings to be with other heavenly things,
I bet I’ll scan the marble floor and wonder what I’ve come here for.
