Where is thy sting?

Where is thy sting?

I think I am ready to die today
For this damn world fills me with dismay.
I feel that I have no purpose in life.
I grow weary of anger, sorrow and strife.

Death or Darkness, where is thy sting?
Why don’t I hear heavenly angels sing?
Is this, as life, just one great con?
My hopes and prayers, unanswered, gone?

I don’t see my life flashing before my eyes.
I see no lands, earth, seas or skies?
Am I in limbo…neither here nor there?
There again if I’m dead…why should I care?

What lies ahead for those I leave behind?
A place where leaders and countries are blind
To blind to believe in the Apocalypse!
Hanging on to peace by their fingertips.

Murder. ..Genocide. We’ve seen it all before.
For Death is the only winner in any war.
The war machine goes into overdrive
Leaving broken bodies and broken minds
For those that do survive.

Yet though I see little future for all mankind
A redeeming thought has just entered my mind…
And the future I can face – come what may
With My beloved beside me – night and by day.

So for now, I won’t be leaving this world behind.
FOR LOVE……..has made me change my mind!
