Why can’t we?

Why can’t we?

Why can’t we find a place
Where no rats are in the race

Where only idle things prevail
So, together, we could sail

Upstream from all the madness
So far from all the sadness

Serenely would it lead
To a place where we are freed

To be as naked as at birth
Just us and Mother Earth

There, we’ll dig a hole
And bury deep our souls

And in a thousand years they’ll find
A human time-capsule entwined

And they will gaze upon with awe
That which they have not seen before

An eternal snapshot of devotion
To fill their hearts like an ocean

And from our seed
A world re-born
A new beginning
A brand-new dawn

And love shall be the seed they sow
A world where hatred shall not grow

And lazy as a summer breeze
They’ll sail across life’s calming seas

Until the end of evermore
When stars & space become our floor

Our souls to drift on solar swirls
And spread the love to new-found worlds

…not much to ask is it? 😅
