Why did you go?

It broke my heart the day you went away,
I never got to say goodbye I wasn’t there that day.
I hear your voice so often calling out my name,
But then I wake and realise it’s my dreams again and here you don’t remain.

If only I could spend just one more day with you,
I’d tell you all the things I never got to do.
So although I cannot touch you or even see your face,
In my heart you will stay in that special place.

You always are in my thoughts and I will surely not forget,
To me you were the greatest DAD that I have ever met.
Miss you always and every day I ask why did you have to go.
