Is there anyone who is in the same situation as myself who loves cruising but doesn't want to pay the excessive single supplements? I would love to hear from anyone who's interested. There is a one-way Transatlantic cruise that leaves Ft. Lauderdale, May 2022. Sounds like a great adventure!
Hello there. I'm Ralph and I've just turned 67. I live a fairly comfortable and quiet post-retirement life alone here in Ontario, Canada.I'm looking for a friendly, non political chat here away from the real world issues that plague our daily life. Thank you.
Hi,I am a farm gal, 65, widowed, mother of adult children (6 sons, 1 daughter)I hope someone from England, Australia, Scotland or Ireland be interested in an American farm gal penpal. I have ancestors and family in all the countries I mentioned but doubt I shall ever know who they are though I have learned and emailed my, only recently learned of, Canadian family which turns out to be about, 80% of my actual family! Anyway, I think it would be grand to make new very long distance friends though I am very new at this method. I raise organic, free-range chickens that are never killed, but die of old age. My rooster is 16 years old😃 and he's a jolly old fellow named Joseph. I have about 25+ laying hens, 4 banty young roosters and my Joe. I am Blessed with my beautiful Pomeranian, Opy who is the "apple of my eye" as the saying goes😃. He'sa fine little (17#'s) chap that is very clever. He is also my service dog. I live on a large dairy farm and enjoy the lowing of the cattle day and night😄. I am a retired semi tanker driver, an Army veteran from VietNam and I am a Conservative Mennonite Christian lady.I love Jesus. I hope someone will reach back to me😁. Blessings, Brook

I've just joined this forum. I live in Alberta, Canada where we have very cold Winters but lots of sunshine. I've travelled quite a bit and I've lived in UK, France, Angola and Canada. I'm only a few years off retirement and I am looking to meet people with similar life experiences. I'm agnostic, I am interested in art, travel, the great outdoors and a good book. I am not a hippy but I am tired of the consumerist world we live in where we are constantly force-fed commercials every 5 mins (if you live in North America, you will know what I mean). I am also disheartened by all political parties as they only give us the illusion that we have a say on how countries are governed and I am particularly very saddened by recent events in the US that are dragging the country back 70 years into the past. I am recently divorced (not looking to make THAT mistake again :) ), I am a positive person, I don't like to whinge and I think life is too short to waste time feeling sorry for yourself. Looking forward to striking up a good conversation :)
G'day to everyone here from California (USA), which is presently converting itself to one massive pile of incinerated cellulose.I am new to this venue, finding my circle of stimulating, intelligent and thoughtfully reflective confrères markedly diminished during the SARS-CoV-2 (AKA: COVID-19) pandemic, and am therefore turning to whatever available online resources exist in an effort to expand one's circle of friends, acquaintances and correspondents (thereby hopefully dissuading my brain-cells from further morphing into protoplasmic slag in the process!).I would welcome contact with any kindred souls out there who tend to enjoy somewhat old-fashioned correspondence in the time-honored manner. As perhaps mentioned already, I am a writer/author/poet and minor gazetteer who, despite having reached my 7th decade of life, am still a bit crazy (I continue to ride my high-performance Japanese Super-sports motorcycles...but heck, so did T.E. Lawrence and a host of other cultural mavericks throughout modern history), but that craziness is well-tempered by intelligent reasoning.I'll leave you with two wonderful quotes by Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, as below:1) “We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and—in spite of True Romance magazines—we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely—at least, not all the time—but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.” [My feelings, exactly!]2) “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”Although I'm an American of Germanic/Irish derivation (everyone needs to have a wild-eyed Irishman hiding in their woodpile), I do tolerate Francophiles to a limited extent and speak some Frog, accordingly! (The same is true for Anglo-Saxons, LoL). And now Her Serene Highness, the Grand Duchess Nala of Eastern Siberia (a Husky dog), commands my presence for an accompanied Royale Progress through the local park to squirt and sniff. Meilleurs voeux, avec de sincères espoirs que notre patrimoine génétique collectif ne souffre pas de votre perte en notre temps de peste virale !
Brand new here. Seems mostly British, which is fine. Funny spelling never bothered me. :) Interested in polite conversation and discussion if there is any reciprocal interest in such with a 68-year-old southern yank.
Hello, I am a new member, age 66, female. I've traveled solo as well as with companions, always interested in hearing from fellow travelers. Live in the USA, have traveled abroad several times, and have seen much of my own country. I am always interested in learning more about different places. Retired school teacher. Any other retired teachers out there? Will be traveling solo in December 2018 on Norwegian Cruise Lines, to The Bahamas and Florida. Was in Bermuda with the same cruise line in June 2017. Norwegian has very nice solo traveler accommodations and a meeting lounge and solo cruise activities director on board. Nice! Met many great folks, both from USA and abroad traveling solo. Of course, it is always to have a travel companion, too. If anyone has plans to tour our State of Texas, I also wish to do so. It is the one State I have not yet toured. My Texas visits have been limited to changing planes in Dallas/Fort Worth. So, if there is anyone out there among senior travelers planning a trip to the USA and, in particular, to Texas, I'd be happy to hear from you! Thank you!
