I’m new, and I’m looking for penpals outside the UK, I work for NHS and when I’m not working or studying, I’m a voracious reader usually snuggled up with one of my dogs. I enjoy politics, current affairs and plan to retire to a Scottish island soon; to pursue my other love -all things archaeological. I have adult children and no grandchildren sadly. I’m interested in music, from Glyndebourne to Download festival I enjoy it all. I have been working very hard this year with some working weeks of 52 hours - so I am promising myself I will take more time for hobbies and less working next year. Anyway please contact me if you’re brave enough, Kitty

Hi everyone I hope this finds you well!! I am in my early 60s (how did that happen?!!), living for 3 decades with a partner who was recently diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum so life isn't easy. I'm a mum, a stepmum, and, just recently, a new grandmother. I have had penpals years ago from all over the place when I was much younger and enjoyed hearing their news and about where they live. I've a keen interest in France and French in general, my dog of course, and anything apart from politics! Hoping to hear from anyone! Ellen

Hi, I am a farm gal, 65, widowed, mother of adult children (6 sons, 1 daughter) I hope someone from England, Australia, Scotland or Ireland be interested in an American farm gal penpal. I have ancestors and family in all the countries I mentioned but doubt I shall ever know who they are though I have learned and emailed my, only recently learned of, Canadian family which turns out to be about, 80% of my actual family!  Anyway, I think it would be grand to make new very long distance friends though I am very new at this method. I raise organic, free-range chickens that are never killed, but die of old age. My rooster is 16 years old😃 and he's a jolly old fellow named Joseph. I have about 25+ laying hens, 4 banty young roosters and my Joe. I am Blessed with my beautiful Pomeranian, Opy who is the "apple of my eye" as the saying goes😃. He'sa fine little (17#'s) chap that is very clever. He is also my service dog. I live on a large dairy farm and enjoy the lowing of the cattle day and night😄. I am a retired semi tanker driver, an Army veteran from VietNam and I am a Conservative Mennonite Christian lady. I love Jesus. I hope someone will reach back to me😁. Blessings, Brook

Although I've "met" some very nice British ladies on Silversurfers pen-pal page, I was wondering if there's anyone from the U.S. that posts here ? I realize that Silversurfers is located in England, but I can't be the only one from the U.S. that "found" Silversurfers on the internet and decided to "join up." While I enjoy inter-acting with the British ladies I've "met" here, I would SO like to (also) have a pen-pal from the U.S.

My friends say I talk too much and will talk to anyone :) I am inclined to be very interested in other people's experiences, pleasures and concerns. I learn a lot just by listening to and engaging with people who are different from myself. My greatest pleasure is going to new places (even if it is only online) and meeting new people.

I am a grandma whose son and family live in Australia. It would be great to communicate with people in a similar position and also to hear from grandparents who live in Australia. Here’s hoping.
