A land downunder

Hi all. My name is Patricia, I am 70. I left England with my hubby and family 50 years ago and I am now living in Queensland Australia, I haven't found anyone else in here with the same history as of yet, so I am throwing the ball into the park to see if there is anyone who wants to play...

Well Hello Dolly!!! I know a song about that!!
Just kidding, I also live in Queensland ,Palm Beach on the Gold Coast.I love it, the weather ,the lifestyle, the slow pace of life near the beach is so good for the spirit.
I was born in Glasgow but I have lived in Australia for 20 years now, just turned 70 and I'm traveling around Europe for a few weeks ,I will be back home late October and already looking forward to it.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be and neither is the weather, I remember Autumn as the nicest part of the year but it has turned cold here in Germany, hope it's just temporary.
I hope you can find the time to reply as I would like to learn more about you.
Regards
Ian

I am not in Australia but my part of my family is. Which part of Queensland are you in? I realised just how big it was on my first visit 11 years ago! Of course we cannot visit at the moment but hopefully by the end of next year we shall be more normal. Hope you are well .

Welcome Dolly, We went to Brisbane many many years ago and had a lovely time. Were you both the original "£10 poms" when you emigrated? Lovely country and people we had a great time.

Hi Patricia

Welcome to the site, a long time away from the UK, you would certainly notice a lot of changes.

I hope you find some playmates on the site
