ADVICE please on No Win No Claim companies.

Really appreciate some advice please. I have recently had a car accident, no fault of my own, where I sustained impact injuries and my car is now a write off. I have logged my injuries with my doctor and tried to get some sense out of my insurance company, who are pretty much a waste of space. My car was my only means of transport and I am really angry that not only have I lost my vehicle but the amount I have been offered back is a pittance. Unfortunately, I did not pay for the insurance legal cover on my car insurance as it was just too expensive. My question is to all you lovely folk, I need to find a way to get some compensation for the trauma I went through, my injuries and loss of my little car. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with some of the No Win No Fee companies that are regularly advertised? I am on my own and to be honest can deal with most life has to throw at me but this is a complete mine field. The forms, dealing with an insurance company that is reading from a generic sheet of information in front of them with no concern at all for my loss. Sorting out forms to send back regarding the scraping of my car. I need some advice please and chocolate! Thank you so much for reading this.

Hi Redhead, I am surprised the insurance company that the third party driver had, have not been more forthcoming with offers of replacement hire vehicle, good compensation, loss of earnings offer & a good price for your old vehicle! I do assume the other driver accepts full responsibility for the event!! I say how surprised I am purely from the point of view that you are bound to seek legal advice, whether or not it was included in your insurance, and everything you are owed would be fought for! The No Win No Fee Solicitors do exactly what they claim to do, so pick up that phone and help yourself, please. Its Only what is due to you, and you are worth it. They will do any fighting necessary to secure the best for you, otherwise they don't get paid. GOOD LUCK

I think the best website to consult is Honest John of the Telegraph newspaper. You have to join the website, just like you have done for the Silver Surfers and either look up what you want to find out about or you can e-mail him direct. He has on three or four occasions answered my queries within a couple of hours, but I might have just been lucky. So punch in Honest John into your web browser and it's pretty simple after that. I know that you will find something to help you and is one of the topics that has been mentioned in his newspaper articles. Best of luck.

I had a car accident that wasn't my fault last year and my car was written off. I used a company that my insurance company asked if they could pass my details through and in the first instance I thought I would have to pay a fee from any compensation (that's how it usually works). However, I remembered that I had GEM assistance and they agreed to pay the legal bill. Its worth checking any trade union, house insurance or road side breakdown cover to see if they will cover legal costs for you. Having said that, my fees would not have been massive even if I had to pay them. You won't get anything for the loss of your car (that's for the car insurance) but you could get loss of earnings, pain and suffering, cost of hospital/doctor visits, phone calls etc. Worth doing!

Hi Petal55, thank you so much for your advice, and yes I am OK now. I was just not too sure whether to go ahead with one of those companies as I had heard they ask for money upfront for costs, which I really would not be able to meet.

I got very little back for my car and still feel angry that I have come out of this so much worse off. I will certainly now contact one of these companies, thank you so much. Hope you are better now! x
