Age....Does it matter?

Not to me it doesn't. I've just scored myself a new job! I'm 58.

Just wanted to give a head's up to those who might need some encouragement finding a new job or a job. I've just quit my current job and am returning to the NHS to work.

It's the first job I applied for too. I needed a change as I was working 4 on 4 off, and although the 4 days off were lovely, working 12hr shifts (6am-6pm)were taking their toll. It was time for a change. I had worked for the NHS for a few years previously and loved it.

I only left because we moved to a completely different area of the UK. So I applied, was invited for an interview and was then told I was successful.I start this week so cannot wait.I'll be learning lots of new skills, and the hours are much better for me too.

I have 9 working years left until retirement and am very happy I get to spend those days working in my dream job. So for all of you out there that are convinced you're too old, or other people tell you you are, ignore it.

Go got what makes you happy, and move forward with conviction and strength.

Good luck everyone.

Good luck with the new job. Age doesn't matter as long as you enjoy what you do. When it stops being fun, it is time to move on.

Age is irrelevant. I'm almost 66 and go to rock music weekends. Getting younger not older, ha ha. Looking for my rock chick to go with I think.

Of course age doesn't matter. My grandma who is 83 is in a really perfect shape! You wouldn't say she's that old. She's an enthusiastic gardener and a cook at home. She won't let anyone to help her! I love her so much 😉

I have just started a new job at 60 ( nearly 61. ! ) years of age. Although I was expecting to retire at 60 the amending of the State Pension age for women changed my plans.
I’m loving my part time job and having my own money again, and I enjoy meeting the customers.
