Am I being selfish?

I am so happy to be turning 60 but want to have friends to go places and be carefree with. Is that being too selfish?

please tell me what you think.

Join your local Red Hatters Group, I have lots of fun with ours here in Norfolk 🙂 We arrange lots of days out, from coffee to stately homes, and coach trips!

I'm not sure why you would think this selfish.Surely going off and doing interesting things gives topics to bring home and chat about.
Do what makes you happy .

No it is entirely normal. Unfortunately many of us spent so much time working and raising children we did not have friends in our lives. In retirement it is more difficult to find like minded people or indeed people with different ideas to us but with whom we can have good honest discussions.

I am inspired by my mother....She has been divorced to my dad for decades now, she remarried and that one didn't work out either. But, she has been on all sorts of trips and has met all kinds of interesting people on these trips. And she did it solo. These were not so called "singles trips" but regular everyday trips. I think going solo on trips is a great way to meet others, however I believe that one must also be really careful too. I hope you do things that you want to do and that you meet people that become your good friends. Good luck..
