Good morning..I also suffer with anxiety and 'nerves'. Going out shopping is a real struggle. What works best for me is getting out into the countryside. Being surrounded by nature is very therapeutic. Gardening is an off-shoot of this. Pottering about with plants focuses your mind on something and helps to relax you.

Hi there I came on this forum to find people similar to me that suffer with anxiety so I am pleased to find this thread. I am a 32 year old female- just to introduce myself!!
My big tip is that I have found that listening to an audiobook really helps. I like to listen to comedy books just to feel like everything is not so serious and try and laugh to deflect away from my intrusive thoughts. I also find that exercise really helps. However I am currently recovering from Covid and for some reason my anxiety was worse than ever afterwards, I have awful palpitations regularly and even though I take a beta blocker for it I still feel like its a daily struggle.
If anyone has any tips I would love to hear from you. Sometimes just talking to other people in the same boat really helps Xx

Hi. What I think is to reduce our anxiety, we should not take medicines and why I am saying it because if we take anti-anxiety medicines we get used to it and the day we stop taking those medicines the anxiety, it starts again. So I would recommend focus your attention on where the feeling of anxiousness is in your body and keep your attention there until the feeling moves or dissolves. For example, the tension could be in your abdomen or your neck. Whenever your attention wanders, bring it back to the place in your body where the physical feeling is. Doing this for five or ten minutes can reduce, if not eliminate, the anxiety. This helped me a lot.

Sorry to hear this, suffering anxiety.

I have joined recently and if I can advise you on seeking support from various organisations.

Mental health charities offer a lot of resources support and also one important thing you are getting help.

All charities offer floating support advice on wellbeing health and can signpost to relevant information and advice.

I had been using mental health charities a long time. Spend a lot of my time advising others.

Have wealth of knowledge, experience and qualifications in doing so.

Your not alone many people suffer anxiety including myself.

One concern is always keeping healthy and aware of your diet and nutrition.

Avoid caffeine in tea, coffee chocolate, no alcohol very much avoid.

Consume too much makes anxiety worse.

Also you need to take whole grains bread rice pasta. Pulses beans.

Fruit and vegetables plenty of lean meat Chicken and Turkey.

Hello, I have and do and one the ways which helped/help me were/are...----Try and smile for a moment--Stand still for one moment take a step forward and smile ,doing this you have moved away from negativty and into the future with a smile...meditation certainly helps ...go for walks and say "Good morning" to someone..there are lots of things to help anxiety but it takes time.....if you have some one close to you who will listen try talking to her/him....I have taken up new hobbies.....and started to teach meditation for Uni for 3rd age..... whatever makes you happy is right...walk away from things that make you sad.......or try and see the positive side of things....not easy at all but you could try.....Life is a challenge ,,,,,sometimes very hard,,,,but the sun rises every morning.....Namaste'
