Does anyone else suffer with Tinnitus?

Does anyone have the dreaded orchestra in the head? I have had Tinnitus for over five years, it started in one ear, with a noise that was faint--ish, then it added the other ear ,where the sounds vary from a screech to a constant 24/7 orchestra I know that working in a noisy environment,, damage to the head or neck, is allegedly the cause, but I have lived in the country for most of my life.and this explanation is not acceptable Of course there is no cure, and we all have to cope with it, SLEEP is a huge problem, or , getting off to sleep ... I had to resort to a low dose sleeping tablet, which does put me to sleep. Anyone got any suggestions about getting to sleep. The noise is particularly loud at the moment - Has anyone tried Acupuncture ??

I'm glad Im not the only one who experiences clicking type noises.I kept thinking I had some kind of bug living in my left ear,as I also felt at times a kind of tickling sensation as if something was crawling around.(There is'nt,had my ears checked at docs lol)

Hello ,,,this post is 7 years old !!!!!Nothing has changed ,except I have new wrinkles , and the TT
is still going strong ,I did Google tinnitus groups and alleged experts who ran trials and yet more trials ,and as far as I could make out ,,they were desperate for money ,,AS IF !!
So Murina you are no longer a newbie . Do you still have the dreaded .?

About getting to sleep, try to avoid drugs. One method suggested to me was to relax and try visualising everything you had done during the day from waking up, breakfast onwards. I've tried it and it works. While trying to remember what you've done you forget about the tinnitus.

hi Dolly forgot where I put this item (New and still fumbling around ) I was given two tiny
ear pieces that look like half an hearing aid, the volume is adjustable, but my stress level
leaps, trying to get it right. Sleep is impossible ,so I do take a low dose sleeping tablet .
purely to send me off. Lack of sleep, can I have been told ,cause other health problems ,
I always have Radio 4 on when the head goes down, as it's just voices ,and distracts
the varmints that are playing the orchestra in my head. You would think after all this time
someone would have come up with some physical help for us "" I should live so long ""
There is another comment on this problem ,,,somewhere !!!!!.

Hello Dolly (heard that somewhere before !!!) just found this forum again,,,, I am on a hiss at
the moment,,just had a cold with a LOT of sneezing, which I think confused the T T for a while
My sleeping problem is dealt with ,by radio 4 ,,all talk, no music,, and a low dose sleeping pill.
the rest of the day is not a problem, as I am out ,so there is always some noise from somewhere. i get an increase if I get stressed,,, but we have to grin and bear it as there is
no chance of us being cured,,, I seem to collect situations, that have no cure, At least TT is
not terminal !!!!!
