Anyone looking forward to this year's Strictly?

I need a bit of glam and sparkle on Sat night's! Is anyone else looking forward to this year's season?

Yes I love Strictly although having no idea how to dance myself it is always a surprise to hear the judges comments and marks. The outfits are exquisite and I love Tess and Claudia.I miss Brucie and hope he is doing well.

Am I alone in thinking that I haven't a clue who the 'celebrities' are any more.
Response from jeanmark made on 16th Aug 2018 23:48:22
No David, you are not alone. I always thought the programme Pointless Celebrities was well titled!

Strictly has been on for a few weeks now and I'm enjoying it as much as ever. Ed Balls is certainly entertaining and has managed to stay in the competition. I don't really mind who wins I am just enjoying the costumes, judges remarks and all of the creativity involved in planning the lighting, themes, music, choreography etc. Claudia is very funny and is a good replacement for Brucie.

With Len retiring, who will be the new judge? I think Anton would make a good judge

Karen Hardy .

Well, so far it looks like more people like Strictly than those of us who don't! 🙂

Veering back to my years of belly dancing....I once lost my chance of a job I'd applied for because of my belly dancing! I was booked by a film company in Bristol to make a short film involving myself and another belly dancer. Unfortunately, after the filming session I had to dash straight to the job interview, and although I had changed out my belly dancing costume, I totally forgot to take off all the heavy eye make-up and turned up at the interview with it all still on. Needless to say, the interviewer took one look at all my exotic eye make-up and turned me down for the job! Oops!

What a shame...their loss no doubt!
Response from Fruitcake13 made on 20th Aug 2016 15:23:34
Oh, definitely their loss, georgesmum! 🙂

My mom and dad were professional modern ballroom dancing teachers and I started dancing when I was 8 and gave it up when I was 18 they wanted me to turn professional but I had recently met someone and I didn't want to dedicate my life to dancing, no regrets

I love a bit of Strictly at the weekends .. can't wait for it to begin, although it makes me feel like summer will be coming to an end soon. When does it starts? Who's in it this year? So much better than the dreaded XFactor!

Yes it makes me think that Xmas is coming!!
Response from Sammychung made on 20th Aug 2016 21:57:31
Ed Balls for one, Will Young and the BBC Breakfast presenter

I love Strictly, but would prefer it if they changed the presenters, they try too hard and it gets tedious. We need another Brucie xx

Not for me, I'm afraid. I danced for years, all different types of dancing from Scottish Country dancing to belly dancing. I loved belly dancing, it was really good fun to do, but ballroom dancing just never appealed.

I have two left feet and no sense of rhythm whatsoever but still enjoy watching it and although I never thought I'd say it I'm relieved that Tess and Claudia are now in charge.
Response from Kazzaj Original Poster made on 19th Aug 2016 21:41:56
Omg I know I actually stopped watching it when brucie was still there I was so pleased when he left I don't think I could stand another brucie joke!
Response from georgesmum made on 19th Aug 2016 21:53:01
Bless Brucie.....he has been an amazing entertainer for so many years but I was relieved too when he finally became a bit embarrassing didn't it!
Response from Kazzaj Original Poster made on 20th Aug 2016 18:55:06
Yes very embarrassing indeed!

Something worth looking forward to as the nights darken and the winter months creep up on us.....I love it...and find myself warming to the most unusual contestants!

Has the line up of celebrities been announced yet? Do you know who will be dancing? I know loads of our Silversurfers have enjoyed watching all the previous seasons! 🙂
