Has anyone had a Reveal (implantable heart monitor) fitted.

Hi folks, I would like to hear from anyone who has had one of these monitors fitted.

How do you find living with it? Any post insertion issues/experiences, success stories I had one fitted yesterday and apart from being rather sore all seems ok so far.

is this the kind of hard monitor you carry. I had one of those for couple of months. before they put a pacemaker in my chest.

It's not one that you carry. It's implanted in your chest, it's only about an inch and a half long. It downloads the data to a bedside unit each night and that sends it to the hospital for analysis. Pretty much fit and forget.

Well just incase somebody is going to get one fitted, this is how I've got on after just over 2 weeks.
I followed Dr's orders and took the rest of the week off work. In all honesty I felt fine apart from a little soreness at the insertion site. I returned to work the following week and could carry on as normal.
Running your fingers over the chest and you can feel where the monitor is, although you can't notice it by looking. The device downloads to the base unit at midnight each night, it has to be in range though of about 2 metres. You do not notice anything happening when it does this. Apparently they will contact you if they see anything amiss that you haven't noticed yourself. So far I havent had another episode, but having one would help greatly in getting an answer to my problem. For those that are interested there loads of videos on YouTube, just search for Medtronic linq heart monitor.
