Are you taking care of the bees?

Just been out in my garden.

The dandelions are starting to flower .

Please don't be too eager with the weed killer at this time they are the main source of food for our bees!

Stay safe

Years ago I went to work in France as an 'au pair' and was introduced to dandelion leaves with ham in a baguette. Most of the French children seemed to eat it and I would imagine it was very nutritious but it left such a bitter taste in the mouth!

With the current food shortages perhaps we should all be 'growing' and eating dandelions in our gardens - perhaps as I'm older now I won't find the taste quite so unpalatable!!!

This is all very reassuring. My garden is a wilderness! I potter about, digging a bit, planting a bit, no idea what I’m doing....and now it seems as if I’m creating a haven for our wonderful bees. The lawn, a mixture of dandelions and mud, suddenly looks beautiful. I will think about investing in a hive.
