Brand new to the site today

Hello! I live in Oregon, USA, am retired, but work very part-time at a store that sells birdseed and bird feeders. I write poetry and read a lot. The internet can be a fascinating place. If anyone would like to chat, leave a note. Looking forward to making friends!

Oh, I should have looked at your profile. I see you are in England. I am sure it is a lovely country, though I have never been there.

It's supposed to be the best place to live in the world but I guess it was an English man/woman who wrote that. I live in Bournville in Birmingham. Bournville is a "Garden Village" which was created towards the end of the 19th century by George Cadbury for the workers in his chocolate factory to live. it's quite nice.

Welcome James, what kind of books do you like?
Response from JamesRain Original Poster made on 16th Jan 2017 16:05:44
I read a lot of novels and poetry, and write some poetry as well. I like Le Carre a lot and am reading a Phillip Roth novel called "American Pastoral right now.

I like Le Carre but also crime thrillers. Lee Childs is a favourite of mine but I'm pretty much open to most crime thriller authors, particularly if they have a central character running through most of their novels. I'm afraid I've never been into poetry but it must be nice to be able to write it.

Hi! Thanks for responding. It must be interesting to teach older people about IT.
