Juncer has really frightened the smaller EU countries with his threats against leavers and this has caused a Right Wing backlash that could unzip the EU (not what we wanted really) but his "Superstate" announcement with all control in Brussels was a severe tactical error and his undong.
Merkel realises the German car market needs us and is under pressure to give us exactly the same trading terms as we have now, and this will ensure her popularity and eventually depose Juncer and lead to a more democratic era for the remainder of the EU.
So, we win in as much as we will have our freedom and still trade both inside and outside the EU, London will become an even more important financial centre.
Interestingly I just found out that my children (who are so bitter that I voted Leave) voted to Remain because being socialists they believed only the EU lawmakers could control the Tory Government from repealing any of the "gains" made in favour of the "Workers" and against the "ruling classes"...... What a dozy, parochial reason for voting Remain, I tried to explain that repealing labour laws would cause strikes, and that was the last thing we ex-business people wanted to cause in the coming years of going forward......wasting my breath.
They (my family) would be more useful trying to sort out their Labour Party and give us a decent opposition to control potential Govt excesses, not voting Remain. No foresight, no understanding of strategy and long term gains, looks like 40 years of EU indoctrination has left a generation bereft of any ability to look beyond their latest "selfie" !
Until, one day in the 80's I received an mail from a Shalom Elkin in Israel welcoming me back to the tribe and asking if I was still practicing my religion !
Shalom was very old and decided to seek out all tribe members before he died, which catastrophically happened before he was able to fully document his research, his son had some of the data but 90% if his work was I believe lost.
One of our American cousins had paid de Bretts to do research, and not found the info on my Dad's two brothers that died in the trenches of the first World War.....and as I had this info we swapped the data from free.
Turns out in 17 xx the family of Romanian / Polish Jews emigrated from some pogrom or other to England as barge builders, then worked their way down the rivers/canals over a period of centuries till they resided in London.
As one of my customers once said to me..."Finishing up as a salesman was a good job for the Bastard son of a Pirate and a Jewish Grandfather, I will make sure to count my fingers from now on when we shake hands !"
Call me a cynic but I recognise that those with off shore accounts have now avoided having to pay tax on their money, and of course, this includes the very people in charge of our country who also pushed Brexit through. It appears that people like farmers and fishermen may not get the benefits they were expecting. Well you reap what you sow...
If the future is so good would one of the persons whobelieves it will be better for me an ordinary person please explain what it is I have to look forward to.
"One of the first things we've done on day one is get rid of pulse trawling"
Pulse trawling, which involves the use of an electric current to force fish off the seabed making them easier to catch, was indeed banned in UK waters on 1 January 2021.
But France and Belgium - both EU member states - had already outlawed the practice in their territorial waters (which stretch up to 12 nautical miles from the coast).
The UK could have done the same when it was still a member of the EU.
An EU-wide ban was also passed into law in June 2019 and is due to come into full effect on 1 July 2021.
Pulse fishing has become less common over the past few decades in EU waters.
There were eight vessels - seven from the Netherlands and one from the UK - using the technique in UK waters between January 2019 and June 2020, according to ocean conservation charity the Blue Marine Foundation.
Four were fishing within UK territorial waters and therefore could have been banned by the UK, before it left the EU.

To hear the words of our Nicola
Which are clearly the best !
So faithful to Brexit and dauntless in chat
There never was a Leaver like the Surfers wee p**t !
( apologies to Walter )
“ Oh dear gals –this is not what our pal Lochness was warning us about ! It was about the Brexit ramblings and so called rude names ( ?? ) Looks as if the wee red markers are measures of approval ! O me miserum – all is lost ”
As for Northern ( him or her ) usual Brexit confusion over which country she belongs to ! Britain aka England seems to have learned its lesson with Mayhem heading for the Cameron door ! Some of us belong to countries which voted substantially to remain . Democracy looks like winning .
The usual small band of what the Wee Ginger Dug would describe as “fleg-waving British nationalists” had brought their sound system along. It was loudly playing Rule Britannia for all to hear. This contrasted with the marchers who had, in addition to thousands of Saltires, flags from England, Wales, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, USA, Sri Lanka, India, Catalonia, Malaysia and many more. What a vivid comparison between what Yannis Varoufakis calls “cuddly Scottish nationalism” and the Brit Nat exceptionalism.
Have you ever heard such rubbish in all the Brexit “debate “! Maggie May is the worst ever PM these sacred isles have ever had – worse even than the hopelessly politically blind Maggie Thatcher ! May and her right wing numpties stagger from crisis to crisis which is more than simple incompetence .
Scarcely a day goes past without another report of crisis .Relentless pressure on your English court system due to underfunding . Some 1 000 English head teachers in London have protested against the damaging impact of government cuts on their schools . The BMA reports NHS ENGLAND is now facing a yearlong crisis Official data shows that waiting times, bed shortages and ambulance queues have hit record levels .Prisons in England are over crowded. Birmingham jail has thankfully been removed from private ownership it was so bad .Homelessness has risen in England by 169 % since 2010 .78 000 people last year had to be found temporary accommodation with the introduction of Universal Credit . More than 1.3 million families in England are dependent on FOOD BANKS !! I could go on it is in all probability water of a duck’s back ! The days of prosperity through slavery and colonial exploitation are thankfully over – be realistic and remain in a Union of like and progressive people and throw the stupidly contrived Brexit in the bucket !
Colin, your bully-boy tactics more than qualify you for a place in the "Salzburg Gang".
