Chance to make new friends

Hi. I’m soon turning 55, and I have to confess that the transition to this stage of my life has been a little difficult at times.

Healthwise, physiologically speaking, I’m still in relatively good shape, but it’s impossible not to notice some change. As an example, in my younger days, I considered myself a cinephile. I took pleasure in being able to name not only the main actors in a particular movie, but the names of important participants such as the editor, the soundman, the cinematographer, and the gaffer.

That has changed. Oh, I’m still lucid enough, but certainly, the little gray cells no longer march in straight lines like they used to. But you know what I think has been hardest have been my occasional bouts with, well what I’ll refer to as existential angst. You know, having to deal with questions of loneliness, isolation, depression.

Now that I’m semi-retired, the question becomes one of purpose and meaning. I think that journey is going to be traveled inward bound. Anyway, my intention was not to make this message dour. I’m excited to have found this site.

My hope is to make friends and to be able to chat about a wide range of subjects. I still believe in and desire growth. Please, look me up, send me a message, let’s get the ball rolling.

In the meantime, best wishes to all.
